    Leadership & Student Involvement

    • Learn more about our student organizations here. Remember, if you can’t find an organization that you want to join, there is always the option to start your own!
    • Learn more about the Office of Leadership and Community Engagement (OLCE) here. OLCE office offers weekly service trips, alternative break trips, leadership courses, and more.
    • Learn more about the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) here. OMA provides mentorship opportunities, diversity education and inclusion training, celebrates the cultural diversity of all students, and advocates for underrepresented groups in the Georgia Southern University community.

At the Statesboro Campus of Georgia Southern University, we have around 350 student organizations under supervised advisors who are actually the faculty or staff of this university.

And we have organizations for different kinds of majors and fields of interest in extracurricular activities.

On the Armstrong campus, we have over 100 plus organizations.

Things like the Gay-Straight Alliance, Collegiate 100 [inaudible].

So pretty much anywhere you need to find a space to be yourself and make friends, there's always something available for you.

I, personally, am heavily involved in the Alternative Breaks program, which essentially you're going to be able to go and volunteer not just for a day, but for a week-long trip.

And you're going to be able to go to a variety of locations, whether in or internationally or domestically.

I'm, personally, a part of Collegiate 100 as their queen.

I'm also a member of Peers Educating Peers and a part of the Emerging Leaders.

So there's always something to do to get on board on campus.

the Office of Multicultural Affairs, they are they oversee the minority programs.

And what they do is they also offer like resources -- you need study help?

You need study tips? You need anything, they'll help you in your classes, they are really like there for you.

If you look at our student groups and organizations, it's everybody that's involved.

It's not one group of individuals that are that are connected.

So you will see people from all over the world and all over the United States interacting, whether it's in the cafeteria, whether it's in a student organizational meeting.

So it's a really good opportunity for our students to learn from each other and helps them better prepare for the future.
